Our intention is to be expert archers as we point the children in the right direction and hit the bull’s eye for the Kingdom and the Glory of the Lord. We want our children to grow into lifelong disciples who display an overflow of God’s love to others– kids that know, love and serve God with their whole heart mind and soul.
Robert Botha advocated an alternative approach to healing a nation: focus on the next generation. He argued that we spend too much energy trying to heal adults (therapeutic approach) and too little trying to shape the minds and futures of the children
The leaders of the next generation will have to live a life of discipleship; a life that is sensible; and a life committed to doing what is right, just and fair. If our children are set off in the right direction and run with a steady pace, they will realise that imitating Christ is a fun-filled and entertaining lifestyle.
The path that Christ set out is as follows:
a life lived in love (Eph. 5:1-2)
a life of humility (Phil. 2:5-8)
a life of mercy (Isiah 53)
a life of acceptance (Jn. 15:12-14)
a life of commitment (Matt. 16:24-25)
a life of courage (Matt. 26:50-56)
a life of diligence (Lk. 18:1-8)
Our children must partake in the race set before them and run according to the rules. We all must admit that there are no shortcuts.
The earlier we begin to hold our children accountable to God’s standards and walk with them down that path, the easier and more successful will our task be in the future (D.L. Switzer). Remember that training a child in the Lords instructions are a daily activity, hard work, but it is worth it! As a pace setting discipleship ministry we provide the opportunity to assist parents in raising Godly children and impacting the next generation.
“Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers.” (Proverbs 17:6, ESV)
